Many of the state’s top junior golfers teed it up at Cape Ann GC on June 18, competing for seven spots in the Mass Golf Junior Amateur Championship. The tournament proper will take place at Bayberry Hills GC and Bass River GC in Yarmouth Aug. 5-8.
John Scully (Winchester CC), Tripp Hollister (Nashawtuc CC) and Zarchary Bova (Meadow Brook GC) each shot 2-over 70s to make the grade. Also qualifying were Alex Jackson (Ipswich CC) and Cooper Mohr (North Andover CC) at +3 and Jack Carew (Ipswich CC) and Owen Shea (Winchester CC) at +4. Jay Wang (Sagamore Spring GC) +6 is an alternate.
Other North Shore juniors who competed included Jack Moriarty (Ferncroft CC), Cole Velardo (Ferncroft CC), Tommy Murphy (Bradford CC), Quinn Mathews (Mount Hood GC), Jack Vaill (Myopia Hunt Club) and Stephen Forgione (Salem CC).
